Rachel Walker is a Montreal based aerial trainer. Trained by legendary trapeze coach Victor Fomine, Rachel co created and starred in the iconic solo swinging trapeze act, in KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil.
Rachel is a guest instructor at École National de Cirque. In 2012 she graduated from their 765 hour advanced teacher training program, with a NRC.09 diploma, and specialized in teaching aerial disciplines.
In 2013 she received a grant from POLO CIRCO (Buenos Aires), and went on to establish herself internationally.
She has co-created acts and trained artists for:
Cirque du Soleil (O, Varekai, Luzia), Dragone (Le Rêve), Cavalia (Odysseo), NoFit State Circus (Lexicon), Gynoides (Sweden), Circus Monti (Germany), Palazzo (Germany), Broadway Variété (Switzerland), Midnight Circus (Chicago), Cirque Mechanics (Las Vegas), & The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. Her students have have won prizes at prestigious circus festivals SOLyCIRCO (Germany), YOUNGSTAGE (Switzerland), and Wuqiao (China).
Born in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Rachel discovered trapeze in 1999 at San Francisco Circus Center. Her coaching is influenced by her unique background as a trapeze artist with Cirque du Soleil, and her teaching education at E.N.C. When she is not teaching she can be found on the trapeze.
